i rarely talk about politics, i try to avoid the topic as much as i can but my ears and eyes are open to the reality. i listen to conversations, opinions and even violent reactions of people from all walks of life. this is my first time to vote, and as a part of the younger generation who has been the subject of the numerous campaigns emanated by the tri-media, i felt like i owe my country a lot and voting its leader is the first step to take. and this started my interest to, at least, be aware of the candidates and try to scrutinize their actions, exposures and what their big mouth is blurting out.
(im not familiar with all the running presidents and vises so far, but i'll try to express what i think of every single person i will include in this post.)
Noynoy Aquino. "Tanggalin ang tiwali. Itama ang mali. Laban na tapat. Laban ng lahat." Would you vote for him? came from a very influential family so that's an instant advantage, he'll surely hit millions of votes. i dunno if he's just being discreet of his agendas on the senate or im not seeing the TV much that's why im not hearing a lot about Noynoy as compared to other senators who brag their ass out. he's the least experienced candidate, i suppose, and i can't help to be skeptical about him leading the entire country. how long has he been our senator? but if he proves his will to make the republic a better place, then why not?!
Mar Roxas. "Country above self." Kung hindi lang siya nag-give way sa pagiging presidente, i would have chosen him as my president. Not that im fascinated by the advertisements but i must admit, his marriage to Korina Sanchez made such a big impact. Korina Sanchez has been one of the critics slash commentator of the issues in politics, and the fact that Mar pleased a lady in that profession made me see him as a good person and somehow true and sincere. Pero alam ko namang kaya siya nag-give way kay Noynoy kasi alam niyang malabo panalo niya for president kung kakalabanin niya si Noynoy. hahaha. jk
Manny Villar. "Sipag at tiyaga." Pardon me if im gonna diss him a bit. Pikon ako sa mga patalastas niya, ang daming pakulo. didn't he realize that people grew tired of it? up until now, his ads are all over the television, radio and print, nakakaumay. He is collaborating with the stars of today--Willie Revillame, Dolphy, Michael V are some. i can't help but think that all he does is scripted, well written and practiced so well. i wanna see something real and please don't fool us with those ads. on a lighter note, he has brilliant platforms and i want all of those implemented if he's on the position. (hahaha. i wonder why Boy Abunda quit endorsing him? credible naman si Boy and i wanna think he's just doing Kris a favor but dude, that's a big turn-off. inayawan)
Loren Legarda. (sorry walang slogan sa official site niya.) Where is this woman getting courage? i mean, despite her loss on the previous election, she still choose to run for vise president...once again. I've known her as an advocate for a cleaner, greener Mother Earth. She's been doing efforts lately to reach out and educate people about climate change and how can we cope with it. and that i can't say anything more. hmpf. ;)
Bayani Fernando. "Sa political will, titino po tayo." vote for him if you want to drive seeing the streets covered with pink and blue. i heard my co-passenger say, "...puro katarantaduhan amputa! hinding hindi ko iboboto si Bayani!" (yes, fists locked!) i laughed hard at that statement and i must commend that guy because this is the main reason i blogged about politics. BTW, he's cursing like that because he apparently hates the pink fence on the sidewalk. they hate how bus stops are outrageously far from where people are supposed to be in, lalo na dahil nagmamadali sila. then i heard them say, "ang laki siguro ng kurakot niya sa mga proyektong ito." and so on and so forth. that made me ponder, it's actually possible...on a country where corruption is a habit? there's no way that it cannot happen. iboboto mo siya?
Erap Estrada. (im still on the process of accepting he's actually running for president this coming election.)
(other names to follow, nakakastress pala 'to.)
