a quote

"i've been making a list of things they don't teach at school: they don't teach you how to love somebody. they don't teach you how to be famous. they don't teach you how to be rich or poor they don't teach you how to walk away from someone you don't love any longer. they don't teach you how to know what's going on in someone else's mind. they don't teach you what to say to someone who's dying. they don't tech you anything worth knowing."

-NEIL GAILMAN

a friend sent me this quote a minute before i close my eyes to sleep, i am subconsciously opposing the implications of that thought. this is absolutely about my opinion and no other-- even the author--is accountable for this verdict than myself.

i have an infinitesimal doubt with that list or should i say, i am irrevocably disagreeing it. first, we all know that school is all about ACADEMICS, meaning we must not expect that teachers are going to prioritize life coaching rather than pursuing their real purpose and duty. really, not all the lessons we wanna learn should be discussed by teachers at school. it's not only the teacher we knew are capable of imparting knowledge to us, it can be at home, through friends, acquaintances, life experiences, self-contemplation and plainly curiosity. remember that nobody knows everything in the world, meaning none is capable of teaching us too much lessons in a lifetime. it's our prerogative to learn for ourself.
